*taps on shoulder* take a look at this…

So if I wanted to show people around me something interesting I’ve found, the title generally sums up what happens. I’ll get their attention somehow…be that a tap on the shoulder, saying their name or simply saying “look at this!”.

Here are five things I’d like to tap your shoulder for, because they have either made me think, inspired me or because I simply thought that the post was so good that I wanted others to see it.

Bullshitwiki’s post listing subreddits which can be used to ‘learn cool stuff’ made me rediscover my dormant love for the website. I used to be a regular Reddit browser, making it apart of my wind down routine before I went to sleep at night. I usually went for the funny stuff (it is my personal belief that you should go to bed in a happy mood and end the day on a high, not necessarily a spectacularly exciting high like having done a bungee jump or anything like that, simply having a few good chuckles are good enough in my opinion). I didn’t even know that there was a ‘learn languages’ section on there until I looked through this post.

So I’m sharing this post because it really is informative, linking you to some really informative and useful sections on Reddit. A big thank you for helping me to broaden my knowledge from me to you bullshitwiki. It’s always nice to be reminded that Reddit is not only full of cats, nerdy conversation and pretty girls, but also full of information too.

The second is from a fellow ‘new blogger’ xxwriterwomanxx. I find her writing so interesting to read purely because it is relatable and seems to be written in such a way that she could be having a conversation with you, rather than writing a piece for you to read. It’s really refreshing to hear about her latest trips to New York, how her piano lessons are going and many other things in such an honest way, it’s quite comical as well. Something which really makes me chuckle is the amazing amount of randomness found here, posts can jump from topic to topic so the writer keeps you on your toes! Check it out if you want to see what I mean.

The third is a post from coldclips blog, a post called ‘What can Harry Potter teach us?’. I haven’t chosen this post because I’m a massive Harry Potter fan (which, in case you’re wondering, I am…after numerous ‘tests’ I know I would be housed in Gryffindor with Harry, Ron, Hermione and the gang). I’ve chosen this post because it addresses an important point about today’s society and how our viewpoints can change. It states that after reading Harry Potter, young readers are becoming more tolerant towards groups which are usually frowned upon, or looked upon with disapproval. I shared this because I like the thought that reading a fictional book can begin to change people’s perspective on certain points in their lives. Especially if it changes the way in which we act towards each other in a positive way.

I’d like to share this, the fourth link and invite you to comment with a few items you’d like to complete in your lifetime. I shall be posting a few of my own on there soon, once I have chosen some of the items I’d like to prioritize. I’ve always been a big believer in writing a bucket list, I have written a few, decided against some things, re-written them and tried to think of lots in one go. Now I have an ongoing list which I’m beginning to tick things off of, but because it is ongoing, I do not feel like I am under any pressure to have everything set in stone right now. It’s really interesting to see what other people around the world dream of doing within their lifetimes, and see whether they achieve them. It can also give you ideas to add to your own list.

Finally I have chosen this blog as the final piece to share on my post because, simply, I started wondering the same thing – what do you do job-wise? What is your main profession, when you’re not blogging/writing? I have chosen to share dottiedaniels repost as well as the original because I liked the way in which she answered it. She turned it into an engaging, almost story-like response. I’m also going to answer this in a separate post, coming soon! (Gosh, I feel like I’ve just announced a movie with that phrase…).

I hope you enjoyed these posts as much as I did. If you fancy it, you’re welcome to ‘tap my shoulder’ and share any posts you find thought-provoking, which made you chuckle or you simply want to show others in the comments below. I’ll be sure to have a gander at them at some point.

    1. That’s okay! We never decided on a nickname for you did we xD I shall do that soon if you don’t mind 🙂 I have noticed 😛 That’s what I mean by saying it can seem like you’re having a conversation with someone rather than writing a piece for them 🙂 Not a problem!

      1. I know!! No nickname yet!! Although people call me the weirdest things. XD The only problem with having a conversation through writing is a can’t write third person fiction. 😦

      2. Hmm, okay I’ve got a couple simple ones, I like simple nicknames – Deedee, Dida (as in dee-dah), Adi (like saying Aidie)…any of those three? If not I’ll come up with more. Can’t YET, there’s always time to improve on that 🙂

      3. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! I love how normal they sound!! Not saying your normal because you’re probably NOT normal in a weird way. But I’m called Uh-die-die. Spelled AdItI. even though the pronunciation is Uh-dee-dee. And aditikong and a-diaper and a bunch of other weird things. XD I like them!! They’re actually pretty good. I like DeeDee, or DD or Dunkin Donuts or something but yeah. XD

      4. Hahahahaha, I just realized I didn’t reply to half of your emails because I always read them and smile and then mentally reply and yeah. D: 😦 Ooops. I would do it right now, but I am an extremely lazy as well as busy person (not to come off as rude which I totally probably did) So anyway sorry. D: I’ll do it… Soon. So…… abormal eye color, eh? Do tell. 🙂 Deedee it is.

      7. Haha, thank you very much! I’ve got all of your replies, I’m starting to think it may be an idea to start emailing each other to continue our conversations, everything would be on one page to reply to. What do you think? I like brown eyes! Don’t be jealous, it’s a difficult decision when you have to fill out forms and choose your eye colour…

      4. If my memory serves me well, you said something about making videos with your brother at one point? Unless I’ve got that wrong, who knows…apparently not me.
Oh dear, that’s not a good face! What happened?
Sounds awesome! I’d love to read it if you ever put it out there for the world to see. Awh, what’s the children’s book like?
Hmm, american HS is probably different to english HS so if I name something it may not be the same. Do you not have any favourite classes or anything?
        Love,
        Jade.
